Satisfied

All my life I had a panted
For a drink from some clear spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Refrain
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings,
Through His blood I now am saved.

Feeding on the husks around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.

Refrain

Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul’s sad cry.

Refrain

Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

It Is Well With My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
  • Refrain:
    It is well, with my soul,
    It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!
Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Friday

 Katya has "The" touch. Every time I go over to her house I am inspired. It's hard to explain other than that she and I are kindred spirits in our decorating (and in just about everything else actually). We think so alike it's almost creepy,  but in a good way, I assure you.

{I just realized that we have the same background for our blogs! See!! What did I tell you?!}
  Good thing she's my sister-in-law! :)

Oh, and this little girly that has stolen my heart, she likes to pose for pictures.  Yea, it's a good thing she's my niece!! :)
*****************

To end this little post, here is a good song! I hope you all have a *great* weekend!

::~How Deep the Father's Love~::
Stuart Townend

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
***

Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

 ***
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

***
His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Captivate Us

Your face is beautiful
And Your eyes are like the stars
Your gentle hands have healing
There inside the scars
Your loving arms they draw me near
And Your smile it brings me peace
Draw me closer oh my Lord
Draw me closer Lord to Thee

(chorus)
Captivate us, Lord Jesus
Set our eyes on You
Devastate us with Your presence
Falling down
And rushing river, draw us nearer
Holy fountain consume us with You
Captivate us Lord Jesus, with You

Your voice is powerful
And Your words are radiant bright
In Your breath and shadow
I will come close and abide
You whisper love and life divine
And Your fellowship is free
Draw me closer O my Lord
Draw me closer Lord to Thee

(chorus)

Let everything be lost in the shadows
Of the light of Your face
Let every chain be broken from me
As I’m bound in Your grace
For Your yoke is easy, Your burden is light
You’re full of wisdom, power and might
And every eye will see You

(chorus)

How Sweet...

How Sweet the Name of Jesus Sounds

based on Song of Solomon 1:3

“Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth.”

Words by John Newton

1. How sweet the Name of Jesus sounds
In a believer's ear!
It soothes his sorrow, heals his wounds,
And drives away his fear.

::~ 2. It makes the wounded spirit whole,
And calms the troubled breast;
'Tis manna to the hungry soul,
And to the weary, rest.

3. Dear Name, the rock on which I build,
My shield and hiding place,
My never failing treasury, filled
With boundless stores of grace!

4. By Thee, my prayers acceptance gain,
Although with sin defiled;
Satan accuses me in vain,
And I am owned a child.

5. Jesus, my Shepherd, Brother, Friend,
My Prophet, Priest, and King,
My Lord, my life, my way, my end,
Accept the praise I bring.

::~ 6. Weak is the effort of my heart,
And cold my warmest thought;
But when I see Thee as Thou art,
I'll praise Thee as I ought.

7. 'Til then I would Thy love proclaim
With every fleeting breath,
And may the music of Thy name
Refresh my soul in death.

Be Still, My Soul

My hearts prayer lately...

"Be Still, My Soul"

by Catharina von Schlegel, 1697-?

1. Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly, Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

2. Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.

3. Be still, my soul, though dearest friends depart
And all is darkened in the vale of tears;
Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart,
Who comes to soothe thy sorrows and thy fears.
Be still, my soul; thy Jesus can repay
From His own fullness all He takes away.

4. Be still, my soul; the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul; when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

He Hears Me!!!

Psalm 34

1 I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the LORD;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together.

4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them.

8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
9 Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.

11 Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who

I Must Tell Jesus

I must tell Jesus all of my trials;
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me;
He ever loves and cares for His own.

Refrain

I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;
He is a kind, compassionate friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
Make of my troubles quickly an end.

Refrain

Tempted and tried, I need a great Savior;
One Who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus;
He all my cares and sorrows will share.

Refrain

O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus, and He will help me
Over the world the victory to win.

Refrain

Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah

Text: William Williams, 1717-1791; trans. from the Welsh by Peter Williams and the author

 Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,
pilgrim through this barren land.
I am weak, but thou art mighty;
hold me with thy powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
feed me till I want no more;
feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain,
whence the healing stream doth flow;
let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through.
Strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
be thou still my strength and shield;
be thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside;
death of death and hell's destruction,
land me safe on Canaan's side.
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to thee;
I will ever give to thee.

Mushroom

I've had a chance, these last couple of days, to take some pictures and I wanted to share them with you. But I don't want to be continually posting just pictures, so I will be sharing some of my favorite hymns with them so as not to bore you all to tears with my photography. :)

Are You Weary, Heavy Laden?

Are you weary, heavy laden, are you sore distressed?
"Come to me," says One, "and, coming be at rest."

Has he marks to lead me to him, if he be my guide?
"In his feet and hands are wound-prints, and his side."

Is there diadem as monarch, that his brow adorns?
"Yes, a crown, in very surety, but of thorns."

If I find him, if I follow, what my portion here?
"Many a sorrow, many a labor, many a tear."

If I still hold closely to him, what has he at last?
"Sorrow vanquished, labor ended, Jordan passed."

If I ask him to receive me, will he tell me nay?
"Not till earth and not till heaven pass away."

Finding, following, keeping, struggling, is he sure to bless?
"Saints, apostles, prophets, martyrs answer, 'Yes'."

-John Mason Neale 1862-

Am I a Soldier of the Cross?

Am I a soldier of the cross,
A follower of the Lamb,
And shall I fear to own His cause,
Or blush to speak His Name?

Must I be carried to the skies
On flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize,
And sailed through bloody seas?

Are there no foes for me to face?
Must I not stem the flood?
Is this vile world a friend to grace,
To help me on to God?

Sure I must fight if I would reign;
Increase my courage, Lord.
I’ll bear the toil, endure the pain,
Supported by Thy Word.

Thy saints in all this glorious war
Shall conquer, though they die;
They see the triumph from afar,
By faith’s discerning eye.

When that illustrious day shall rise,
And all Thy armies shine
In robes of victory through the skies,
The glory shall be Thine.

This is going to be a post containing pictures that have nothing to do with some verses that I love. :)

Psalm 93

The Eternal Reign of the LORD
1 The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The LORD is clothed,He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
2 Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.

3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
4 The LORD on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.

5 Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
O LORD, forever.

When my heart is overwhelmed
lead me to the rock that is higher than I
Psalm 61:2

Lately my days have been VERY busy.

8-9am ~ Piano
9-10:30am ~ School
10:3o-11am ~Break
11-11:30am ~ Piano
11:30-12:15pm ~ Dinner
12:15-12:25pm ~ Preparing for work
12:30-2:45pm ~ Work
2:45-3pm ~ Preparing for softball
3-6:30pm ~ Softball

Now, I don't mean to show you my schedule to complain or to boast or anything like that (I'm sure most of you have much busier schedule than this), I mean to show it to you so that you will understand how much this verse means to me and how much it has impacted my life.

After starting this schedule I didn't know how I was going to do this by myself. I mean, how was I going to muster up strength for the day after going to bed around midnight? How was I going to have enough self control to get my piano done for the competition in March, the Theory test in May and the level test in the fall? How was I going to have enough strength to get through softball? How was I going to have enough joy to get through work and be happy and pleasant while I'm there? How was I going to be able to get good grades in school? How was I going to be able to understand what I was reading in school?

Then I stopped myself. I could see it right there. I couldn't do it. I was overwhelmed, and usually when I'm overwhelmed with things I tend not to do them. I just let them go because I feel like it is impossible to get the things done that I need to. A great tactic, I know! Joking.
But when I read this verse in my Bible reading the other night it all made sense. I couldn't do it on my own. When I am overwhelmed I can't just leave it undone I need to leave it to God. Bring it to my Jesus and say "Lord, I cannot do this without you. My soul is overwhelmed with the many things that I have to do. I cannot keep a right attitude without You."

You have NO idea how much better I felt. It felt like a hugenormous weight was lifted of my shoulders. The weight of doing it myself was gone!! I don't have to do it alone. What a blessing.

So I share this with you in hopes that you will look to Jesus Christ as your rock, as the rock that is higher than you. What a Rock! A rock that will not falter or disappear or give way under the weight of your burden. He will hold fast! You don't have to worry that it is too much for Him to bear. He WANTS to carry it for you.

Perhaps its dread?

There they are, overwhelmed with dread,
for God is present in the company of the righteous.

Psalm 14:5

Or guilt?

My guilt has overwhelmed me
like a burden too heavy to bear.

Psalm 38:4

Or fear and trembling?

Fear and trembling have beset me;
horror has overwhelmed me

Psalm 55:5

Perhaps it's the weight of your sins?

When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.

Psalm 65:3

No matter what it is, our Lord Jesus wants to bear them.
Hand them over to Jesus.

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior
who daily bears our burdens.

Psalm 68:19

There are many more verses that I could have shared but I didn't have time. Go searching for them, they bring so much comfort to the weary soul. What a great God we have!!

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Matt. 5:14-16

please...give me Jesus...

when I've got a headache that hurts so much that even getting hit by a train wouldn't hurt as much....

when I wake up to my covers being thrown off me and icy fingers tickling my toes...

when a member comes in and acts like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed...

when I wake up late and I'm too tired to do anything since I overslept because I stayed up too late the night before ...

when one of my siblings mopes around the house and almost bites my head off...

when I don't want to submit to my parents...

when I don't feel love for anyone...

when I've got what seems like a millions things on my to do list...

when I've got a piano song that I despise...

when I feel totally incomplete...

when I desire to be married...

when I feel like my love for my precious Jesus is slowly fading away...

when I put off reading my Bible because I've got "other" things to do...

when my alarm clock goes off in the morning and I shut it off telling myself that I'll get up in 5 minutes knowing that I won't...

when I think it would just be easier to cut all of my hair off then try and deal with it...

when my school doesn't make any sense and just seems like a bunch of words mixed together...

when I'm self centered enough to write a post all about me and my problems...

when I know that the only way that I can have real and true joy is through Christ alone...

when there is something that I want to load on my computer but it takes forever and doesn't...

when I base all that I do on feelings instead of what I know is true...

Give Me JESUS!!

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
When I am alone, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I come to die
When I come to die
When I come to die, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Refrain:
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.

Refrain

Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.

Refrain

Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav'n but Thee?

Romans 12

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore

“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

some verses very dear to my heart...

Romans 11

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

34 “ For who has known the mind of the LORD?
Or who has become His counselor?”
35 “ Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?”

36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever.
Amen.
